The $8 million dollar upgrade is the largest renovation on the Taree court house since the courthouse was first built in 1882.
Construction works included the demolishing of the previous 1960s extension and replacing it with a new two story building. The new court house creates new space for video-conferencing and domestic violence support areas. There is also the addition of new rooms for legal-aid, public defenders and Aboriginal Legal service.
